A/C Suction Hose/Line Replacement

REMOVAL
1. Connect a refrigerant recovery machine to the service ports, and remove refrigerant from the A/C system.
2. Remove blower motor assembly from vehicle. Refer to Blower Motor and Wheel Removal and Installation.
3. Disconnect the refrigerant recovery machine from the vehicle.

Dual Pressure Switch:




4. Loosen both liquid and suction line compression fittings at evaporator, and remove lines.

CAUTION: Cap all open lines and fittings to prevent moisture and contamination from entering the refrigerant system.

5. Remove the liquid line (with service port) from filter drier.
6. Remove the filter drier from its mount.
7. Raise vehicle on a hoist.

Liquid And Suction Lines:




8. Remove suction line bolt and line from A/C compressor.

9. Remove the two suction line mounting strap attaching screws.
10. Remove suction line by maneuvering line out from the bottom of the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Replace suction line by feeding line up through the bottom of the vehicle.
2. Place the suction line mounting straps on the line and attach screws.
3. Replace suction line bolt and connect line at A/C compressor. Tighten suction line bolt to 20 - 30 Nm (15 - 22 ft. lbs.) torque.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Place the filter drier in its mount, and fasten bolts.
6. Replace liquid line at the filter drier.
7. Fit both A/C lines into evaporator, and tighten line compression fittings. tighten the suction line at the evaporator to 30 - 35 Nm (22 - 26 ft. lbs.) torque.
8. Hook up refrigerant recovery machine and start A/C system evacuation.
9. Replace blower motor assembly on vehicle. Refer to Blower Motor and Wheel Removal and Installation.
10. Charge A/C system according to vehicle under- hood specifications.
