Muffler: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.

Intermediate Pipe Isolator And Band Clamp:

2. Apply penetrating oil to muffler band clamps and loosen clamps.
3. Remove bolts from the two rear muffler isolators.
4. Remove muffler.

INSTALLATION
1. Install muffler to intermediate pipe. Do not tighten band clamps at this time.
2. Install muffler isolators and tighten bolts to 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.).
3. Tighten muffler band clamps to 70 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
