Brake Pedal Height





1. Turn back the carpet, etc. under the brake pedal.
2. Measure the brake pedal height as illustrated. If the brake pedal height is not within the standard value, adjust as follows.

Standard value (A): 175 -180 mm (6.9 - 7.1 inch)

(From the surface of melting sheet to the face of pedal pad.)





a. Disconnect the stop light switch connector, and then turn the stop light switch 1/4 turn counterclockwise to loosen it.
b. Adjust the brake pedal height by turning the operating rod with pliers (with the operating rod lock nut loosened), until the correct brake pedal height is obtained.
c. Push the stop light switch in until it touches the stopper. Pull the brake pedal up by hand' and secure it in that position.
d. Adjust the stop light switch so that clearance is as shown, and then turn it approximately 1/4 turn clockwise to tighten it.





e. Connect the connector of the stop light switch.
f. Check that the stop light is not illuminated with the brake pedal released.
3. For vehicles with A/T, check the shift locking mechanism.
4. Put back the carpet, to its original position.
