Fluid Supply Fitting Replacement

NOTE: The power steering pump does not require removal from the engine for replacement of the O-Ring seal on the power steering pump fluid supply fitting.

DISASSEMBLE
1. Using a siphon pump, remove as much power steering fluid as possible from the power steering fluid reservoir.
2. Raise vehicle.

Power Steering Fluid Supply Hose:

3. Remove the power steering fluid supply hose from the power steering fluid supply fitting on power steering pump.

Power Steering Pump Suction Fitting:

4. Remove the bolt attaching the power steering fluid supply fitting to the power steering pump.
5. Remove the power steering fluid supply fitting from the power steering pump.
6. Remove and discard the O-ring seal on the power steering fluid supply fitting.

ASSEMBLE
1. Install a new O-ring seal on the power steering fluid supply fitting.
2. Using clean power steering fluid, lubricate the O-ring seal on the power steering fluid supply fitting.
3. Install the power steering fluid supply fitting in the power steering pump.
4. Install and securely tighten the bolt attaching the power steering fluid supply fitting to the power steering pump.
5. Install power steering fluid supply hose on power steering fluid supply fitting. Be sure hose clamp is installed on hose past upset bead on fluid supply fitting.
