Erroneous MIL Illumination

If the vehicle exhibits a diagnostic trouble code for the camshaft position sensor but the engines performance is not changed, connect the scan tool to the data link connector and check for a Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). If a DTC's other than camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction are present, record them and repair as necessary before proceeding further. If the only the DTC "Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction" is present and all systems are functioning correctly, perform the repair outlined in TSB # 18-25-96, dated Sep. 20, 1996.
