Fig. 8 Testing PCV Valve:

1. Remove the PCV valve.
2. Insert a thin rod from the nipple end of the PCV valve and verify that the valve plunger moves freely.
3. If the valve does not operate freely or is clogged replace it.
4. When re-installing the PCV valve torque to 6 - 8.5 ft-lbs (8 - 12 Nm).
