Throttle Body: Service and Repair

Throttle Position Sensor And Idle Air Control Motor Location:

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove inlet air hose and clamp.
3. Disconnect the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and Idle Air Control (IAC) motor electrical connectors.
4. Remove the throttle return spring, and throttle cable.
5. Remove throttle body mounting nuts. Remove throttle body and discard old gasket.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean mating surfaces.
2. Install the throttle body, with new gasket, and tighten mounting bolts to 175 in-lbs (20 Nm).
3. Connect TPS and IAC motor electrical connectors.
4. Attach cables and return spring.
5. Install inlet air hose, and tighten clamp
6. Connect negative battery cable.
