Water Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 72 Water Pump Replacement. SOHC:

1. Drain engine cooling system.
2. Remove timing belt, refer to TIMING BELT.
3. Replace water pump in sequence shown in Fig. 72, noting the following:
a. On models with automatic transaxle, insert O-ring to water inlet pipe and coat outer circumference of O-ring with water.
b. On models with manual transaxles, insert O-ring to water inlet pipe A and coat outer circumference of O-ring with water.
c. On models with manual transaxles, insert O-ring to water inlet pipe B and coat outer circumference of O-ring with water.
