1. Remove pads, refer to BRAKE PAD.
2. Disconnect brake hose at brake tube connection and caliper, then remove caliper mounting bolts and caliper.
3. Place caliper on a suitable work bench, remove retaining rings and piston boots, then install a wooden block in center of caliper body and apply compressed air to evenly remove the four pistons. Keep fingers away from piston area to avoid being pinched. Wear safety glasses to avoid brake fluid from getting into eyes.
4. Remove piston seals using a suitable screwdriver, then the washers. Do not damage cylinder inner surface.
5. Reverse procedure to assemble, noting the following:
a. Inspect cylinders and pistons for wear or damage and/or corrosion. Inspect caliper body for wear.
b. Apply suitable brake fluid to inner cylinders, then install piston seals into cylinder groove. Do not wipe grease from seal and boot repair kit on piston seals.
c. Apply suitable brake fluid to pistons and insert into cylinder without twisting.
d. Fill piston edges with grease from seal and boot repair kit, then install piston boots.
