Sunroof Service Information Supplement

1992 (B7) Stealth


DISCUSSION:





A tilt-up type manually operated sunroof is available as a mid-year option on Stealth models (Fig. 1). This bulletin provides supplemental service manual information that was not available at the time the service manual was published.

The sunroof has the following features:

1. The sunroof can be opened to a maximum height of two inches in the rear.

2. A detachable sun shade is part of the sunroof assembly.

3. A wind deflector is provided to prevent the wind from coming in the sunroof opening when the glass has been removed.


Sunroof Removal and Installation

Removal and installation procedures for the sunroof assembly.





1. Remove the sunroof trim assembly (Fig. 2).


2. Remove the sunroof glass assembly.

3. Remove the outer weatherstrip.

4. Remove the slide lock latch assembly.

5. Remove the hinges from the glass.


6. Remove the headliner.

7. Remove the inner weatherstrip.

8. Remove the hinges from the roof panel.

9. Remove the air deflector.

10. To assemble the sunroof assembly, reverse steps 1 thru 9.





NOTE:
WHEN INSTALLING THE INNER WEATHERSTRIP, INSTALL IT WITH THE JOINT TOWARD THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND CENTERED AS SHOWN (FIG. 3).


Sunroof Regulator Removal And Installation

The removal and installation procedures for the sunroof regulator assembly are as follows:

1. Remove the sunroof trim assembly.

2. Remove the sunroof glass assembly.

3. Remove the regulator cover.

4. Remove the sunroof regulator assembly.

5. To assemble the sunroof regulator assembly, reverse steps 1 thru 4.


Rear Roof End Extension Removal and Installation





1. Remove the two retaining nuts and carefully remove the rear roof end extension (Fig. 4).

2. Position the rear roof end extension on the vehicle and install the retaining nuts.
