NF-1A
TEST NF1ANOTES:
- Perform Test DR1A before proceeding with NF (No Fault) tests. DR-1A CODE to DR TEST Chart (Checking for Fault Codes)
- Check for Technical Service Bulletins that relate to this driveability problem. Perform corrective actions if indicated, then proceed with NF tests.
1. NO FAULT QUICK TEST (individual test only)
Quick tests are grouped into Engine Controller Inputs, Outputs, and Non-Monitored categories.
Inputs Outputs Non-Monitored
Coolant Idle Speed Motor Secondary Ignition
TPS EGR Fuel Pressure
MAP Engine Vacuum
02 Sensor Min idle air flow
P/N Switch Engine Mechanical
If you suspect any of the above items to be the cause of the vehicle's driveability problem, perform the associated tests below. Return to No Fault Quick Test Menu if driveability problem still exists, or perform No Fault Complete Test.
2. NO FAULT COMPLETE TEST (Non-Monitored and Monitored Circuits)
Perform TEST NF2A through NF13A in sequence until the driveability problem is found.
NOTE: The components that provide an input to the engine controller listed below are being checked for a condition that won't set a hard fault, but will cause a driveability problem.
CHECKING SECONDARY IGNITION AND TIMING NF2A
CHECKING FUEL PRESSURE NF3A
CHECKING COOLANT AND TPS CALIBRATIONS NF4A
CHECKING MAP SENSOR CALIBRATION NF5A
CHECKING OXYGEN SENSOR SWITCHING NF6A
CHECKING IDLE SPEED MOTOR OPERATION NF7A
CHECKING PARK/NEUTRAL SWITCH NF8A
CHECKING ENGINE CONTROLLER GROUNDS NF9A
CHECKING EGR VALVE OPERATION NF10A
CHECKING ENGINE VACUUM NF11A
CHECKING MINIMUM IDLE AIR FLOW NF12A
CHECKING ENGINE MECHANICAL NF13A
