Verification Test VER-2

VERIFICATION TEST 2

1. If TEST VER3 was performed previously, perform TEST VER3 once again.

2. Inspect the vehicle to ensure that all engine components are connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary.

3. If another fault as previously read, and has not been dealt with, DR-1A CODE to DR TEST Chart (Checking for Fault Codes)

4. If the engine controller has been changed, connect the DRB II and erase the faults.

5. To ensure no other faults remain, perform the following procedure:

a. START the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.

b. Raise the engine speed to 2000 rpm for at least 10 seconds, then allow the engine to idle.

c. If the transmission is automatic, apply the brake and cycle the selector through all the gear ranges. Place the selector in PARK.

d. If the vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, turn the air conditioning ON. Set the blower to low speed.

e. Turn the engine OFF.

f. START the engine, and allow it to idle for at least two minutes.

g. Turn the engine OFF.

h. With the DRB II, read the fault messages.

6. If the repaired fault has reset, the repair is not complete. Check all pertinent TSB's. DR-1A CODE to DR TEST Chart (Checking for Fault Codes)
If a new fault has set, return to TEST DR1A and follow the path specified by the new fault. IF there are no faults set the repair is complete.
