Pick-Up Coil: Service and Repair

Removal

Distributor Assembly:

1. Remove cap hold down screws and move distributor cap to one side.
2. Remove rotor screw and rotor.
3. Remove protective cover.
4. Remove lead wire screw, (outside of distributor housing), and lead wire.
5. Remove disc assembly screw.
6. Remove disc spacers and disc.
7. Check disc for warpage, cracks or damaged slots.
8. Remove bushing and photo optic sensing unit fasteners, and remove unit.


Installation


1. Install bushing and photo optic sensing unit and tighten fasteners.
2. Install disc spacers and disc and tighten disc assembly screw
3. Install lead wire, and tighten lead wire screw
4. Install protective cover
5. Install rotor and tighten rotor screw.
6. Install distributor cap, and tighten cap hold down screws.
