Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Adjustments

Fig. 5 Throttle Valve Cable Adjustment:

1. Loosen throttle valve cable locknuts, then lift threaded cable shank out of engine bracket.
2. Place throttle lever in idle position.
3. Pull cable wire forward, then place 1.55 inch gauge block (F) on wire between cable connector (G) and cable end (H), Fig. 5.
4. Pull cable shank rearward to detent position, then insert shank into engine bracket. Tighten locknuts, locking shank into place. Ensure cable is in detent position, not wide open throttle position.
5. Remove gauge block and recheck adjustment.
