Cranking Signal: Description and Operation

Relay Location/Identification:

The starter relay sends a signal to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) when the starter motor is engaged. The ECU will then monitor the engine sensors to determine crankshaft and camshaft position. The relay is located on the left strut tower. The relay will be identified by an imprint on the relay cover.
