Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

Fig. 30 Evaporator Core Replacement:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge refrigerant.
2. Disconnect liquid pipe and suction hose and cap fittings.
3. Remove evaporator drain hose, then the lower glove box, reinforcement and upper glove box.
4. Disconnect duct joint and electrical connectors.
5. Remove evaporator assembly.
6. Remove clips attaching case halves, then disconnect expansion valve flare nut and remove evaporator core from case.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Apply compressor oil to O-rings and expansion valve of evaporator assembly.
