Safety Recall # 545 -- Motorized Shoulder Belts

SUPPLEMENT: STAGE 2 OWNER MAILING

Models:
Two Door Dodge Shadow and Plymouth Sundance Models Equipped with Motorized Shoulder Belts

Notification to owners of the above model two door vehicles involved in Stage 2 of this recall will begin in a few days. Owners will be instructed to lubricate the carrier track themselves, or if preferred may request that dealers perform the lubrication.

Only a limited number of vehicles will require part replacement for an inoperative system. In most cases, lubrication will be adequate. Therefore, dealers are urged to order replacement parts only-if a system is inoperative.

No parts will be distributed to dealers in advance for this stage. Replacement service should be performed only if a motorized belt is inoperative. The following Recall Parts Packages must be ordered as needed to support customer demand for an affected two door vehicle with an inoperative track and drive assembly:

Each dealer to whom involved vehicles were invoiced (or the current dealer at the same street address) will receive a list of those vehicles with this letter.

Use the Service Procedure section of the December, 1992 dealer notification letter for this recall. The repair procedure for affected two door vehicles is similar to the four door vehicles except where noted.
