C. Track and Drive Assembly Replacement (If Necessary)





NOTE:
Refer to Figure 2 for the following steps. It is essential that you follow the installation sequence to insure proper track and drive operation.

1. Remove the A-pillar and roof rail trim. Remove the B-pillar trim on 4-Door models or the rear seat and the quarter trim panel on 2-Door models.

2. Disconnect the drive motor wiring connector.

3. Remove all track and drive assembly attachments (A through G).

4. Remove the track and drive assembly and set aside for return to the Parts Return Center.

5. Using the proper track and drive assembly as specified in the Parts section, align the rail attaching holes with the body attaching holes. Attach the rail to the body using the x-mas tree fastener (A).

6. Install the motor assembly to the body using the hooks on the motor assembly bracket.





NOTE:
FOR TWO DOOR VEHICLES ONLY -- Insure that the drive cable is routed between the two motor attaching hooks (Figure 3).

7. Install the drive motor attaching nut (B -- Figure 2) and torque to 10 ft-lbs.

8. Hand start the two lock box attaching screws (C). Do not tighten.

9. Install the rearward-most rail attaching screw (D) and torque to 35 in-lbs.

10. Tighten the two lock box screws (C) and torque to 12 ft-lbs.

11. Install the forward-most rail end to the A-pillar bracket (E-2 places). Torque to 35 in-lbs.

12. Install the remaining rail attaching screw (F) and torque to 35 in-lbs.

13. Install the drive cable attaching clip screws (G-2 places) and torque to 17 in-lbs.

14. Connect the drive motor wiring connector to the body wiring harness.

15. Install the A-pillar and roof rail trim. Install the B-pillar trim on 4-Door models or the rear seat and quarter trim panel on 2-Door models.
