Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Description and Operation
Hydraulic Assembly:
In place of the conventional differential pressure/proportioning valve, the ABS system utilizes screw-in proportioning valves. Each rear brake circuit has its own screw-in proportioning valve which is attached to the rear brake outlet ports of the hydraulic assembly. These valves limit rear brake pressure to the rear brakes after a certain brake pressure is reached, thus improving front to rear brake balance during normal braking. The Proportioning Valves are serviced separately.
