Rear Door Window Motor: Service and Repair

WARNING: Electric window regulator motors should only be removed from doors with an intact glass guidance system and with glass secured in the full up position. If the regulator arm is not loaded by the weight of the glass, removal of the motor will result in a sudden release of counter balance spring energy which may result in injury.

Glass Guidance System:

REMOVAL
1. Remove trim panel and plastic air shield.
2. If possible, raise glass to full up position. If not, the entire regulator must be removed.
3. Disconnect motor from the wiring harness.
4. Detach motor from regulator (3 screws).
5. Remove motor through large access hole.

INSTALLATION
1. Install motor through large access hole.
2. Secure motor to regulator (3 screws).
3. Connect motor to wiring harness.
4. Install plastic air shield and trim panel.
