A new dipstick and filler tube has been released, for use on subject model vehicles when equipped with KM171 transaxles. This new dipstick and filler tube are much longer and are positioned for easier access when checking or adding transaxle fluid is necessary (Figure 1). This change was effective in February, 1988, Transaxle No. EF9730 and later.

The new dipstick and filler tube are completely interchangeable with earlier units. However, the dipstick and filler tube must be replaced as a set, along with a new O-ring.
