Throttle Cable/Linkage: Adjustments

Accelerator Cable Adjustment:

1. START and RUN the engine until it warms up and reaches the specified idle speed.

2. STOP the engine, and remove the air cleaner.

3. Adjust the accelerator cable free play as follows.
a. Loosen the adjusting nut so that the throttle lever is free.
b. Turn the accelerator adjusting nut to the point where the throttle lever just starts moving, then back off one turn and secure the lock nut.

4. Tighten the adjusting bolts.
