Turbocharger: Service and Repair

REPLACE
1.6L Models
1. Drain engine coolant, then crankcase oil.
2. Remove radiator.
3. Disconnect breather hose, then remove hose clamp.
4. Remove air intake pipe, then the O-ring.
5. Remove power steering oil pump, then the power steering oil pump bracket.
6. Remove alternator, then the condenser fan motor, if equipped.
7. Remove front end cover, then the engine oil dipstick.
8. Remove engine oil dipstick guide, O-ring and air hose connection.
9. Remove air hose connection, then the secondary air pipe.
10. Remove heat protector, then the engine hook.
11. Remove exhaust manifold, then the gasket.
12. Remove gasket and ring from exhaust manifold, then disconnect air intake hose.
13. Remove oxygen sensor connector, then the water hose connector.
14. Remove eye bolt and water water pipe.
15. Remove eye bolt, then the bolt gasket and nut from oil return pipe.
16. Remove exhaust fitting assembly gasket, then the turbocharger assembly.
17. Reverse procedure to install.
