Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair

RELEASE OF RESIDUAL PRESSURE FROM FUEL HIGH PRESSURE HOSE
Release the internal pressure of the fuel main pipes and hoses by using the following procedure.

NOTE
Be sure to release the internal pressure. If the hose is removed from the the main pipe without reducing the internal pressure fuel will gush out.

1. Remove the rear seat cushion and remove the carpet.

2. Start the engine, and then disconnect the electric fuel pump connector.
3. After the engine has been stopped, set the ignition key to OFF position.
4. Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
