A.Modify the Vacuum Hoses

Note: See Figure 1 for harness layout and description of all connection points.

1. Locate the long white striped and red striped vacuum hoses in the supplied vacuum harness which are clipped together and connect them to the corresponding ports on the vacuum control valve. Connect the blue striped hose from the harness to the remaining port on the valve (Figure 2).

2. Locate and remove the vacuum line connecting the inboard port of the Secondary Air Control Solenoid and the Secondary Air Control Valve (Figure 3).

3. Disconnect the remaining vacuum hose from the Secondary Air Control Solenoid front port, shorten it by 4 inches, and connect it to the tee connecting the ends of the red and white striped hoses of the harness (Figure 4).

4. Locate the short green and white striped lines of the harness which are clipped together. Connect the white striped line to the front solenoid port. Connect the green striped line to the inboard solenoid port (Figure 5).

5. Connect the remaining short green striped hose to the secondary air control valve (Figure 6).

6. Remove the filter from the rear of the secondary air control (upper) solenoid and connect the long green striped hose of the harness to the exposed nipple (Figure 7).

Note: The electrical connector was removed from the solenoid for visual clarity.

7. Locate and cut the existing white striped hose two inches from the blue 4-way connector as shown in Figure 8.

Note: This is the same hose which was shortened in step A3.

8. Insert the tee at the end of the long white striped hose of the harness into the cut ends of the hose as shown in Figure 9.
9. Locate and cut the existing green striped hose connecting the carburetor and the vacuums.

10. Remove and discard the short piece of hose attached to the tee at the end of the long green striped hose of the harness. Route the long green striped hosi around the carburetor. Insert the tee between the cut ends of the existing green striped hose. (Figure 11).
11. Secure the long green striped hose with the provided tie strap.


Note: The tie strap must be positioned to prevent interference with the carburetor.

12. Attach the bracket from the parts package to the Secondary Air Control Valve with the provided bolt as shown in Figure 13.
13. Clip the Vacuum Control Valve into the bracket as shown in Figure 13.
