Removal/Installation, Front

1. Raise and support vehicle
2. Remove front wheels.
3. Drain transmission fluid.
4. Remove front wheel adjusting nut lock cap.
5. Remove front wheel adjusting nut.
6. Separate outer tie rod from steering knuckle.
7. Remove engine splash shield.
8. Remove the stabilizer bar.

9. Remove lower control arm from control arm bracket at bracket side, Fig. 3.

10. Separate extension rod subassembly and shift/selector sub assembly from transmission, Fig. 4.

11. Remove driveshaft using pry bar tool No. 09648-87201 or equivalent, Fig. 5.
12. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply chassis grease to serrated section of outboard joint.
b. Torque lower arm and stabilizer bar bolts to specifications.
c. Torque stabilizer bar bracket to body bolts to specifications.
