KEY INTERLOCK

Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the upper and the lower steering column cover panels.

Important: Be careful when removing the key interlock solenoid. There is a plunger with a spring attached that can easily become lost.





3. Disconnect the key interlock solenoid electrical connector and remove the key interlock solenoid screws and the key interlock solenoid.





4. Remove the side cover on the instrument panel.





5. Remove the key interlock unit.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the key interlock unit.





2. Install the side cover on the instrument panel.





3. Place the spring and plunger on the key interlock solenoid.





4. Install the key interlock solenoid and solenoid screws.
- Tighten the key interlock solenoid screws to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.).
5. Install the upper and the lower steering column cover panels.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
