Oil Pick Up/Strainer: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Drain engine oil.
2. Remove front exhaust pipe.
3. Follow removal steps outlined in the illustration, noting the following.





4. Remove the oil pan mounting bolts. Then use the special tool and a brass bar to remove the oil pan.

CAUTION: Do this slowly to avoid deformation of the oil pan flange.

INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order noting the following.





2. Tighten the bolts in order of the numbers shown in the illustration.





3. Replace the gasket so it face in the direction shown in the illustration.
4. Refill engine oil.
