DISTRIBUTION: Service
As noted in our shop manual, with carbureted vehicles it is very important that the accelerator and choke cables be disconnected from both the pivoting connection located on the plenum and the cable retaining bracket mounted to the intake manifold whenever the plenum is removed for service and repairs.
With fuel injected vehicles, the accelerator cable must be disconnected from both the pivot ball connection on the throttle body and the cable retaining bracket mounted to the thermostat housing whenever the throttle body or plenum is removed.
In each case, this procedure must be followed to prevent damage to the cables.
