SYMPTOM/CONDITION
A separation or puckering of the moulding to the quarter window on subject model cars can be resolved by performing the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Place two inch wide strip of masking tape on outside of glass at area of pucker as close to moulding as possible. This tape should extend 1/2" beyond each end of area where repair is to be made.
2. Place two inch wide strip of masking tape on body as close to the moulding as possible to protect the painted finish of the car. This tape should cover area the same as tape in Step 1.

3. Carefully position a piece of scrap steel or aluminum, approximately 1/16" thick and the width of the repair area, between the vinyl moulding and the fence at a 90~ angle to the moulding (Figure 1). Hold or tape in place...
4. Cover moulding with masking tape.
5. Carefully slide a knife or razor blade between glass and moulding along area of pucker. Continue pressing until blade goes completely through moulding and touches protective metal plate.
6. Remove knife or razor blade.
7. Using non-petroleum base solvent, clean glass and moulding in repair area. Dry area with lint free cloth or air pressure.
8. Using 3M Scotch-Grip #847 Industrial Adhesive and a small brush, fill area between glass and moulding with adhesive.
9. Press moulding firmly against glass to evenly distribute adhesive over entire repair area.
10. Re-open area and allow to cure for 5 to 10 minutes, or until there is no transfer of adhesive to a finger.
11. Again press moulding to glass using thumbs or a small roller.
12. Remove all tape and protective metal plate.
13. Clean any excess adhesive from glass and moulding using mineral spirits to complete repair.
