Low-Reverse Servo, Band, and Linkage

(1) Carefully work servo piston assembly into the case with a twisting motion. Place spring retainer, and snap ring over the piston (Fig. 44).
(2) Compress low and reverse servo piston spring by using engine valve spring compressor Tool C-3422-A, then install snap ring.
(3) Position rear band in the case, install short strut, then connect long link and anchor to the band. Screw in band adjuster just enough to hold strut in place. Install low-reverse drum. Be sure long link and anchor assembly is installed as shown in Figure 42, to provide running clearance for the low and reverse drum.
