Tilt Lever Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the lower trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement (Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement).
3. Remove the tilt lever spring (2).
4. Remove the retaining bolt (3) from the tilt lever.




5. Remove the tilt lever (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the tilt lever (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

2. Install the retaining bolt (3) to the tilt lever.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Install the tilt lever spring (2).
4. Install the lower trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement (Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement).
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
