Auxiliary Heater Pipe Replacement - Rear

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the heater inlet and outlet hoses from the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipes usingJ 38185.
2. Drain the coolant system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LZ9) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill) (Service and Repair).
3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipe clip nut (1).




5. Remove the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipe clip nut (1).




6. Remove the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipe clip (1).




7. Remove the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipe (2) clip nut (1).




8. Remove the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipe clip (1).




9. Remove the auxiliary inlet/outlet pipe (2) clip nut (1).




10. Using the J 38185, disconnect the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet hoses (2) at the rear of the vehicle.
11. Remove the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet hose assembly.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet hoses (2) to the rear of the vehicle.
2. Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver, release the hose clamp retention locks.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

3. Install the auxiliary inlet/outlet pipe (2) clip nut (1).

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




4. Install the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipe clip (1).




5. Install the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipe (2) clip nut (1).

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




6. Install the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipe clip (1).




7. Install the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipe clip nut (1).

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

8. Lower the vehicle.




9. Install the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipe clip nut (1).

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

10. Install the heater inlet and outlet hoses to the auxiliary heater inlet/outlet pipes.
11. Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver, release the hose clamp retention locks.
12. Fill the coolant system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LZ9) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill) (Service and Repair).
