Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement
Tools Required
J 37043 Park Brake Cable Release Tool
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the left cowl side panel. Refer to Cowl Side Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Fold the carpet back in order to gain access.
3. Remove the park brake indicator switch electrical connector.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
5. Loosen the park brake equalizer nut.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove the park brake lever nuts (1).
8. Remove the park brake lever with the park brake cable.
9. Remove the park brake cable end from the park brake lever clevis.
10. Use the J 37043 in order to remove the cable from the lever.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the park brake cable to the park brake lever.
2. Install the park brake cable end to the park brake lever clevis.
3. Install the park brake lever (2) with the cable (4).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).
4. Install the park brake lever nuts (1).
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
5. Install the park brake indicator switch electrical connector.
6. Fold the carpet back in place.
7. Install the left cowl side panel. Refer to Cowl Side Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Adjust the park brake cable. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment (Adjustments).
