Lower Control Arm Ball Joint Replacement (2WD, Z85, ZQ8)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement (Service and Repair) .




2. Remove the ball joint nuts and bolts from the lower control arm. Discard the nuts and bolts.
3. Remove the ball joint from the lower control arm.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the ball joint to the lower control arm.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .




2. Install the new ball joint nuts and bolts to the lower control arm.

Tighten the nuts to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).

3. Install the steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Verify the wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications (Specifications) .
