Secondary Fluid Pump Replacement (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2)

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the transmission oil pan. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement





2. Disconnect the secondary fluid oil pump electrical connector.





3. Remove the secondary fluid oil pump bolts.
4. Remove the secondary fluid pump.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the secondary fluid pump.

Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the secondary fluid oil pump bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





3. Connect the secondary fluid oil pump electrical connector.
4. Install the transmission oil pan. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement.

5. Important:
It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, the engine control module (ECM), powertrain control module (PCM) or transmission control module (TCM) will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.
Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions.
