Water Pump Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the left wheelhouse inner panel.
2. Remove the radiator outlet hose.
3. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe.
4. Remove the crankshaft balancer.
5. Remove the water pump to engine coolant pipe nuts (2) from the studs (1).
6. Remove the engine wiring harness retainer from the inner stud.
7. Remove the water pump nut (1) and bolts (2).
Note: The bolts (2) are different lengths.
8. Remove the water pump (5).
9. Remove and discard the water pump O-ring (3) and the coolant pump outlet pipe gasket (4).
Installation Procedure
1. Lubricate the water pump O-ring (3) with engine oil.
2. Install the water pump outlet pipe gasket (4) and the lubricated water pump O-ring (3).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
3. Install the water pump nut (1) and bolts (2). Ensure the correct length bolt is used in the proper location and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
4. Install the engine wiring harness retainer on the inner stud.
5. Install the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (2) to the studs (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
6. Install the crankshaft balancer.
7. Install the thermostat bypass pipe.
8. Install the radiator outlet hose.
9. Install the left wheelhouse inner panel.
