Steering Wheel Replacement

J 1859-A Steering Wheel Puller

J-36541-A Steering Wheel Puller Adapter

J 42578 Steering Wheel Puller Legs

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution .

1. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
2. Mark the relationship of the steering wheel (1) to the column (3).




3. Remove the steering wheel nut (2).




4. Use the J 1859-A with J-36541-A or J 42578 to remove the steering wheel from the column.

Installation Procedure




1. With the marked relationship references in line, install the steering wheel (1) onto the column (3).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

2. Install the steering wheel nut (2).

Tighten the steering wheel nut to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

3. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
