Park Brake Cable Replacement - Left Rear

^ Tools Required
- J 37043 Park Brake Cable Release Tool

Removal Procedure





1. Release the park brake.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Loosen the park brake cable equalizer nut in order to remove the park brake left side cable from the park brake equalizer.
4. For domestic vehicles, perform the following steps.
4.1. Remove the tire and wheel.
4.2. Remove the brake drum.
5. Remove the park brake cable from the park brake actuator.





6. Use the J 37043 in order to remove the park brake cable.
^ For domestic vehicles, remove the park brake cable from the backing plate.
^ For export vehicles, remove the park brake cable from the park brake cable bracket.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the park brake cable.
^ For domestic vehicles, install the park brake cable to the backing plate.
^ For export vehicles, install the park brake cable to the park brake cable bracket.
2. Install the park brake cable to the park brake actuator.
3. For domestic vehicles, perform the following steps.
3.1. Install the tire and wheel.
3.2. Install the brake drum.
4. Install the park brake left side cable to the park brake equalizer.
5. Adjust the park brake cable.
6. Lower the vehicle.
