Park Brake Cable Equalizer Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel.
3. Remove the rear brake caliper bracket with the brake caliper.
4. Remove the rear brake rotor.
5. Loosen the park brake cable equalizer nut.





6. Remove the park brake cable from the park brake actuator lever.
7. Remove the park brake cable bracket.
8. Remove the rear wheel hub and bearing.
9. Remove the park brake actuator.

Installation Procedure





1. Ensure that the park brake actuator lever (2) is correctly oriented in the park brake actuator (10).





2. Install the park brake actuator.
3. Install the rear wheel hub and bearing.
4. Adjust the park brake shoe and lining.
5. Install the park brake cable bracket.





6. Install the park brake cable to the park brake actuator lever.
7. Install the rear brake rotor.
8. Install the rear brake caliper bracket with the brake caliper.
9. Install the tire and wheel.





10. Tighten the park brake cable equalizer nut until both park brake cable ends contact their respective park brake actuator levers.
11. Adjust the park brake cable.
12. Lower the vehicle.
