Wiper Motor Replacement - Rear (XUV)

WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT - REAR (XUV)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the wiper arm (3).




2. Remove the weatherseal (2) from the wiper motor pivot shaft (3).
3. Remove the interior trim panel from the endgate.
4. Remove the rear endgate window.
5. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.




6. Remove the bolts (2) and the nuts (1, 3) retaining the wiper motor (4) to the endgate.




7. Remove the wiper motor assembly (5) from the endgate.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the wiper motor (1) to the endgate (2).
2. Install the 2 bolts retaining the motor to the endgate.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

3. Install the nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

4. Connect the wiper motor electrical connector.
5. Install the rear endgate window.
6. Install the interior trim panel to the endgate.




7. Install the spacer (2) on the wiper motor pivot shaft (3).




8. Install the wiper arm (3).
9. Inspect the rear wiper system.
