Energy Storage Box (ESB) Cut Off Switch Replacement

ENERGY STORAGE BOX (ESB) CUT OFF SWITCH REPLACEMENT (WITH RPO CODE HP2)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the energy storage box (ESB) intermediate cover.
2. Disconnect the battery cut-off switch electrical connector (3).
3. Remove the battery cut-off switch nuts (2).




4. Remove the battery cut-off switch (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: A NEW battery cut off switch comes in the open position for safety concerns. The service part will need to be closed with a scan tool after the part has been installed.




1. Install the battery cut-off switch (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




2. Install the battery cut off switch nuts (3).

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the battery cut-off switch electrical connector (3).
4. If a NEW switch was installed, use a scan tool and command the battery cut-off switch to the closed position.
5. Install the ESB intermediate cover.
