Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge pipe from the chassis EVAP purge pipe.




3. Disconnect the fuel tank EVAP pipe from the EVAP canister.




4. Disconnect the EVAP vent valve pipe from the EVAP canister.




5. Remove the EVAP canister bracket bolt.
6. Remove the EVAP canister.
7. Remove the EVAP pipe from the EVAP canister, and retaining clip.
8. Remove the EVAP canister from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the EVAP canister to the bracket.
2. Install the EVAP pipe to the EVAP canister, and retaining clip.
3. Install the EVAP canister.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the EVAP canister bracket bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




5. Connect the EVAP vent valve pipe to the EVAP canister.




6. Connect the fuel tank EVAP pipe to the EVAP canister.




7. Connect the EVAP purge pipe to the chassis EVAP purge pipe.
8. Lower the vehicle.
