TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CENTER

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in Restraint Systems.

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Remove the left and right instrument panel (I/P) trim panel.
3. Remove the inflatable restraint instrument panel module.
4. Move the steering wheel to the full down position.




5. Remove the 5 fasteners from the center trim panel.




6. Release the retaining clips from the center trim panel.




7. Remove the instrument panel cluster (IPC) seal from the IPC.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the IPC seal to the IPC.




2. Engage the retaining clips from the center trim panel to the I/P retainer.




3. Install the 5 fasteners from the center trim panel.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

4. Reposition the steering wheel to the preferred position.
5. Install the inflatable restraint instrument panel module.
6. Install the left and right I/P trim panel.
7. Enable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in Restraint Systems.
