Instrument Panel (I/P) Carrier Replacement
INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CARRIER REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Block the wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving.
2. Adjust the shift lever to FIRST position.
3. Lower the convertible top.
4. Tilt the steering wheel to a full down position.
5. Remove the left and right sunshades.
6. Remove the left and right windshield pillar garnish molding.
7. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim panel.
8. Remove the left and right I/P trim panel.
9. Remove the passenger I/P inflatable restraint module.
10. Remove the left knee bolster.
11. Remove the right knee bolster.
12. Remove the knee bolster bracket.
13. Remove the center I/P trim panel.
14. Remove the I/P upper trim plate.
15. Remove the instrument panel cluster (IPC).
16. Remove the radio.
17. Remove the HVAC control module.
18. Remove the 9 fasteners retaining the I/P carrier to the I/P carrier support.
19. Remove the I/P carrier assembly from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the I/P carrier assembly to the I/P structure.
2. Install the 9 fasteners that retain the I/P carrier to the I/P structure.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten the fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
3. Install the HVAC control module.
4. Install the radio.
5. Install the IPC.
6. Install the I/P upper trim plate.
7. Install the center I/P trim panel.
8. Install the knee bolster bracket.
9. Install the right knee bolster.
10. Install the left knee bolster.
11. Install the passenger I/P inflatable restraint module.
12. Install the left and right I/P trim panel.
13. Install the I/P upper trim panel.
14. Install the left and right windshield pillar garnish molding.
15. Install the left and right sunshades.
16. Adjust the shift lever to the PARK position.
17. Remove the blocks from the wheels.
18. Close the convertible top.
