Parking Brake Lever: Service and Repair
Park Brake Lever Assembly ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Release the park brake it applied.
2. Remove the center console.
3. Disable the park brake automatic adjuster.
4. Remove the electrical connector for the park brake switch.
5. Remove the mounting nuts for the park brake handle.
6. Remove the park brake handle assembly.
7. Remove the front park brake cable from the park brake handle.
8. Remove the park brake handle from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the front park brake cable.
2. Install the front park brake cable.
3. Position the park brake handle on the mounting studs.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the mounting bolts.
Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the electrical connector for the park brake switch.
6. Enable the park brake cable automatic adjuster.
7. Install the center console.
8. Check operation of the park brake handle.
