Park Brake Cable Replacement - FrontRemoval Procedure
Tools Required
^ J37043 Park Brake Cable Release Tool
1. Release the park brake if applied.
2. Remove the park brake lever assembly.
3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
4. Remove the rear propeller shaft.
5. Remove the left rear park brake cable from the front cable.
6. Remove the right rear park brake cable from the front cable.
7. Install J37043 (1) on the front park brake cable.
8. Using the J37043, remove the front park brake cable from the retaining bracket.
9. Tape the equalizer in a parallel position to the brake cable.
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Install J37043 (1) on the front park brake cable.
12. Using the J37043 (1), remove the front park brake cable.
13. Remove the park brake cable from the retaining bracket.
14. Remove the floor seal (1), from the floor panel.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the front brake cable in the floor panel.
Important: When installing the floor seal, ensure that it is properly seated in the floor panel to prevent leaks.
2. Install the floor seal (1).
3. Raise the vehicle.
4. Instal the front park brake cable in the retaining bracket.
5. Install the right rear brake cable in the equalizer.
6. Install the left rear brake cable in the equalizer.
7. Install the rear propeller shaft.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Install the front brake cable in the retainer.
10. Install the park brake lever assembly.
