Compressor Hose Assembly

COMPRESSOR HOSE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.







2. Remove the compressor hose assembly bolt (2) and the washer (1).
3. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the compressor.
4. Remove the sealing washers.







5. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the accumulator.
6. Remove the O-ring seal.
7. Remove the air intake resonator.







8. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the condenser.
9. Remove the O-ring seal.







10. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the evaporator.
11. Cap or plug all of the open connections.








INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Remove the caps or plugs from the open connections.
2. Install the compressor hose assembly to the evaporator.
3. Install the air intake resonator.
4. Install a new O-ring seal.







5. Install the compressor hose assembly to the condenser.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Vehicle Damage Warnings


Tighten
Tighten the hose to.............................28 N.m (21 lb ft).

6. Install a new O-ring seal.







7. Install the compressor hose assembly to the accumulator.

Tighten
Tighten the hose to...........................48 N.m (35 lb ft).

8. Install the sealing washers.







9. Install the compressor hose assembly to the compressor.
10. Install the compressor hose assembly washer (1) and the bolt (2).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to.............................33 N.m (24 lb ft).

11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
12. Leak test the fittings of the components using the J 39400-A.
