87. Exhaust Manifold Installation

Exhaust Manifold Installation





1. Install the exhaust manifold gasket.





2. Install the exhaust manifold.
3. Add threadlock GM P/N United States 12345493, GM P/N Canada 10953488 to the exhaust manifold bolt threads.
4. Install the exhaust manifold bolts.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts.
5.1. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts a first pass in sequence to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
5.2. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts a second pass in sequence to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
5.3. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts a final pass in sequence to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





6. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield studs (if required).
^ Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield studs to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





7. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
8. Add anti-seize GM P/N United States 12371386, GM P/N Canada 993128 to the exhaust manifold heat shield nuts.
9. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield nuts.
^ Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield nuts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
