Removal Procedure
1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Remove the air cleaner.
3. Remove the fan shroud.
4. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose (2) from the pump.
5. Disconnect the power steering return hose (1) from the pump.
6. Disconnect the reservoir outlet hose (3) from the power steering pump.
7. Cap the ends of the hose and the pump in order to prevent the entrance of dirt.
8. Remove the pump drive belt. Install a 3/8 inch drive ratchet on the tensioner arm and rotate the arm counterclockwise.
9. Using the J25034-C remove the power steering pump pulley from the vehicle.
10. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts (1,3) from the vehicle.
11. Remove the power steering pump from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the rear bracket (1) to the pump (2).
Tighten the rear bracket to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the pump assembly to the engine using the bolts (3).
Tighten the retaining bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
3. Place the pulley on the end of the pump shaft.
4. Using the J25033-C install the power steering pump pulley.
Important: Route the power steering hoses in the same location in which they were removed.
5. Install the power steering pressure hose (2) to the pump.
Tighten the hose fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the power steering return hose (1) and the secure the hose with the retaining clamp to the pump.
7. Install the reservoir outlet hose (3) and the secure the hose with the retaining clamp to the pump.
8. Install the pump drive belt. Install a 3/8 inch drive ratchet on the tensioner arm and rotate the arm counterclockwise.
9. Install the fan shroud.
10. Install the air cleaner.
11. Fill the system with power steering fluid.
12. Bleed the system.
